MLB: Colorado 5, LA Dodgers 3

DENVER, July 23 (UPI) -- Matt Holliday's two hits and two RBI Wednesday helped the Colorado Rockies overcome the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3.

The National League's 2007 MVP had run-scoring hits in the first and third innings, respectively, while continuing to fend off trade rumors.

Three other Rockies had one RBI, including Brad Hawpe and Ian Stewart, who, along with Jeff Baker, had two hits to help Colorado go 6-1 on its seven-game home stand.

Colorado rose to 11-2 at Coors Field this month.

Winner Glendon Rusch (4-3) gave up three earned runs and seven hits in five innings.

Following three others relievers, closer Brian Fuentes recorded his 17th save.

Los Angeles' Adam LaRoche, Donny Ardoin and Andruw Jones each had one RBI.

James Loney had three hits and Matt Kemp two for the Dodgers, who have split their last four games.

Losing pitcher Hiroki Kuroda (5-7) surrendered five earned runs and nine hits in six innings.
